When applying for a course at Tameside College you will have three options available to you, via our online form, via UCAS (the University and Colleges Admissions Service) or in person. Below sets out the process for each:
Search our full-time/part-time higher education courses on the website and find the one you are interested. Click the ‘Apply Online’ button and make an application directly to the college. You can also click 'Apply Now' under the chosen course to apply direclt.y
You can apply for our full time/part time higher education courses, including HND and Foundation Degrees, through UCAS. UCAS charge an additional fee to students applying for HE courses. This is dependent on if the student applies for a single course at one Higher Education establishment or a variety of courses. For further information please visit the UCAS information webpages.
Throughout the year we host a number of open events, but you are welcome to visit us anytime of the year to discuss your options and make a direct application.
Entry requirements differ dependent on the course you wish to apply for. Please refer to the 'Entry Requirments' section under the course you are interested in.
At Tameside College, recognition of prior learning includes work experience, other qualifications, volunteer activities, and any relevant training or skills that may not directly relate to the course but demonstrate a higher standard of learning. This evaluation is conducted on an individual basis during the interview stage to ensure each student's unique experiences and achievements are appropriately acknowledged and credited.

The deadline for each course is dependent on the start date and is usually 7 days before the actual start date. If the course has not yet started and you are past this deadline please contact the college as their may still be availablity for you to study.
We will acknowledge your application online and keep in touch by post and/or email. Dedicated members of the higher education team will invite applicants for an interview. This is an opportunity for the teachers to find out more about you and your experience.
Conditional and, sometimes, unconditional offers may be made to candidates following the interview. The offer will take into account previous experience and qualifications.
